ユージーン・スタジオ／寒川裕人『EUGENE i, ii, iii』 (3冊ボックスイン特装版) MAKI Galleryによる「ユージーン・スタジオ／寒川裕人 想像の力」は、寒川の思想、創作、表現をより深く広く読み解くために、2023年から複数年にわたり全3章で開催される大規模な展覧会です。本図録は本展の第1章に合わせ、作品シリーズごとにさらに3部に分けて刊行された書籍となります。本展覧会を読み解くうえで鍵となるアーティストとの対談や論考のほか、寒川の過去の講義やインタビューなどから抜粋された言葉を収録し、アーティストが持ち合わせる学術的な側面にも焦点を当てようと試みます。

セット版には『EUGENE i “想像#1/Light and shadow inside me”』『EUGENE ii “Rainbow & White (tentative)”』、『EUGENE iii “Goldrain”』の全3冊の図録が含まれます。また、加えて作家サインや特典付きのボックスインパッケージとなっています。 『i』は「想像 Image/Imagine」と「Light and shadow inside me」シリーズ、『ii』は「Rainbow Painting series」と「Rainbow Painting series」を、『iii』には「Goldrain」の豊富な図版を収録。

ユージーン・スタジオ / 寒川裕人
寒川裕人は 1989 年アメリカ生まれの現代美術家。ペインティングとインスタレーションを中心に知られ、哲学的でありながら没入感と迫力を伴う壮麗な作品世界で人々を魅了しています。これまでに、金沢 21 世紀美術館や青森県立美術館での企画展、資生堂ギャラリーでの個展などを成功させ、また、東京都現代美術館で2021-2022 年に開催された個展「ユージーン・スタジオ 新しい海 / EUGENE STUDIO After the rainbow」は過去に草間彌生やオノ・ヨーコらが個展を行ってきた同館で最年少での開催となり、作家蔵の作品を除きすべての作品がのちに世界各地のコレクションに収蔵されたほか、入り口では最大数時間待ちとなるなど、記録的な盛況をもたらしました。
